When all you want to do is grow a coaching business that brings you a decent salary, lets you do what you love (and are really good at) every day and help people. Right?
It wasn’t until I realised it didn’t have to be complicated or techie, I didn’t have to be anyone else and I could start from where I was that things finally fell into place.I actually did manage to make a really good living from my coaching business. I did hit that ubiquitous ‘six figure’ number that seems to be the latest buzz word. But I did it as ME. Me being a mum of a little girl. Me being a former marketing manager from the North East of England. Me being quite shy and not very techie. But that was enough. And you are enough too. I worked really hard for 2 or 3 years, it almost took over my life. I knew what I needed to do –I just needed to make it happen. Facebook was a different beast 5 years ago. It was easier than it is today to grow a business page, but it wasn’t EASY, it took a lot of hard work. As for the online side, I had to learn software that brought me to tears. I had to get over my fear of being ‘not good enough’. I had to overcome my terror of live webinars. I had to get over myself and do videos. I had to learn how to write blogs. None of it was easy. But I got on with it because it had to be done, if I wanted to build this business. I still work really hard today. I just don’t have to put in the ridiculous hours I had to in the early days. I still find my business is always on my mind. I’m always learning; always thinking of what my Super Customers need – those women at home, building businesses and wanting to create a better life where they are their own boss. I’m constantly creating. And that’s part of what you need to do.
There are some basics you need to have in place, if you want to grow a business. It’s not rocket science and you can definitely do it.Some of it is basic business ‘stuff.’ Some is to do with your attitude and mind-set. Some is to do with marketing, and how to tackle it and some is just, well having someone gently kick you along until you get on with it.
Now, I’m not going to tell you that I’ve developed a mind-blowing, very expensive programme with a waiting list and try to convince you through wizardry and a fear of missing out that you can’t grow your coaching business without it.
What I’ve actually done is created a really useful and easy-to-understand online course that will show you what you need to do, if you want to grow this coaching business of yours.It’s not expensive. There is an early bird offer available while I get on with creating in the background but even after that offer ends, it’s STILL not expensive. You see, I don’t believe you should have to max out your credit card or remortgage your house just to be able to build your business. That’s just adding debt and pressure and that’s not conducive to a great learning experience. I know the ‘big guys’ will say that you need to have some ‘skin in the game’ – in other words, if you pay a lot of money you are more likely to complete the programme. That’s rubbish. I’ve paid LOTS of money before – some programmes I’ve completed, others I haven’t, mainly because what they were teaching didn’t sit well with me.
Here’s my thinking.If a programme is well designed and easy to follow and use, you will complete it. Life might get in the way but you can always pick up where you left off.
If a programme has built-in peer support, you are more likely to stick with it if you find the going tough.
If a programme is priced affordably, it makes it accessible to the people who actually need it, right when they need it most.
I figure that’s a good way to do business, don’t you?

You can have the best products and services in the world but if your Mind Monkeys are telling you you’re not good enough, your business will flop.
