Six figure this. Seven figure that.
Sales funnels, conversion rates and a sea of virtually identical ‘coaches’ promising you the earth and the new big ‘technique’…
When all you want to do is grow a coaching business that brings you a decent salary, lets you do what you love (and are really good at) every day and help people. Right?
I know what it’s like.
Five years ago I was right where you are now.
Not knowing where to start.
Feeling like it can’t be THAT difficult to grow your coaching business, so why is nobody just showing you what to do?
The steps you can take, how to do the basics? How to build this business of yours, so it brings in money every month, without you feeling like you have to start from scratch every time it goes quiet; Without having to learn about funnels or trip wires or weird techie stuff that takes a trademarked diagram to show you how it works.
It can feel baffling.
I know it slowed me down by months, this feeling that I needed to have everything up and running in this special way that all these ‘big guys’ were touting.
I felt like the job was SO BIG that I didn’t know where to start.
It wasn’t until I realised it didn’t have to be complicated or techie, I didn’t have to be anyone else and I could start from where I was that things finally fell into place.
I actually did manage to make a really good living from my coaching business. I did hit that ubiquitous ‘six figure’ number that seems to be the latest buzz word. But I did it as ME.
Me being a mum of a little girl. Me being a former marketing manager from the North East of England. Me being quite shy and not very techie. But that was enough. And you are enough too.
I worked really hard for 2 or 3 years, it almost took over my life. I knew what I needed to do –I just needed to make it happen. Facebook was a different beast 5 years ago. It was easier than it is today to grow a business page, but it wasn’t EASY, it took a lot of hard work. As for the online side, I had to learn software that brought me to tears. I had to get over my fear of being ‘not good enough’. I had to overcome my terror of live webinars. I had to get over myself and do videos. I had to learn how to write blogs. None of it was easy. But I got on with it because it had to be done, if I wanted to build this business.
I still work really hard today. I just don’t have to put in the ridiculous hours I had to in the early days. I still find my business is always on my mind. I’m always learning; always thinking of what my Super Customers need – those women at home, building businesses and wanting to create a better life where they are their own boss.
I’m constantly creating. And that’s part of what you need to do.
There are some basics you need to have in place, if you want to grow a business.
It’s not rocket science and you can definitely do it.
Some of it is basic business ‘stuff.’ Some is to do with your attitude and mind-set. Some is to do with marketing, and how to tackle it and some is just, well having someone gently kick you along until you get on with it.
Now, I’m not going to tell you that I’ve developed a mind-blowing, very expensive programme with a waiting list and try to convince you through wizardry and a fear of missing out that you can’t grow your coaching business without it.
What I’ve actually done is created a really useful and easy-to-understand online course that will show you what you need to do, if you want to grow this coaching business of yours.
It’s not expensive.
There are some early bird offers available while I get on with creating in the background but even after that offer ends, it’s STILL not expensive.
You see, I don’t believe you should have to max out your credit card or remortgage your house just to be able to build your business. That’s just adding debt and pressure and that’s not conducive to a great learning experience. I know the ‘big guys’ will say that you need to have some ‘skin in the game’ – in other words, if you pay a lot of money you are more likely to complete the programme. That’s rubbish. I’ve paid LOTS of money before – some programmes I’ve completed, others I haven’t, mainly because what they were teaching didn’t sit well with me.
Here’s my thinking.
If a programme is well designed and easy to follow and use, you will complete it. Life might get in the way but you can always pick up where you left off.
If a programme has built-in peer support, you are more likely to stick with it if you find the going tough.
If a programme is priced affordably, it makes it accessible to the people who actually need it, right when they need it most.
I figure that’s a good way to do business, don’t you?
OK, so with that in mind, here is what I’ve created
Coaching Business School
It’s 9 modules. The modules are…
1. BUSINESS FOUNDATIONS
Think like a business owner, get clear on what you want and figure out your quickest route to success.
It’s time to stop worrying about funnels and build really firm foundations for your growing business.
Pricing your time and your services. Creating a steady income and getting rid of rollercoaster cash-flow.
Understanding your value. Tracking your money and forecasting sales. It’s all doable and it’s more fun than it sounds!
3. PRODUCT & SERVICES
One to ones, VIPS, Skype sessions, group coaching, online programmes, blimey! There are so many options!
Which are right for you and how could you structure them? And where on earth do you start?
You can have the best products and services in the world but if your Mind Monkeys are telling you you’re not good enough, your business will flop.
Let’s work on your success mindset and chase off the monkeys.
This is a chunky module. We’ll look at websites, email subscribers, email marketing, blogging, and more.
All the things I’ve used successfully to build my business. If I can do it, so can you!
6. SOCIAL MEDIA
How on earth DO you use Facebook or Twitter, LinkedIn or Pinterest to build your coaching business? And where does Instagram fit?
Let me show you what you COULD be doing (and relax, you don’t need them all.)
7. CREATING & SELLING
Webinars? Teaching videos? Product launches? What do you use? How do you do them? What if it all goes wrong? Eeek!
OK, been there, done that and I’ll show you what you need to know to get started. You can do this!
What do you launch and when? How long does it take? How do you fit it all in? What should you do first? How often should you blog? Email?
Breathe easy – I can help with ALL that.
9. MAKE IT HAPPEN
Basically, a bum kick to stop you investing in this programme and then doing nothing.
This module is designed to inspire you, remind you why you are awesome and stir you into action!
Each module has a video class, broken down into sections. You can skip straight to a section if you want to listen to it again.
Each module has a workbook to download and scribble on, apart from the last module where you get a certificate (yay!).
You need to complete each module before the next one is released, so you build upon what you have learned in the previous module. I know you’re impatient but this method of learning really works – it means you don’t inadvertently skip important bits and it gives the lessons time to sink in before you tackle the next one.
As with all my programmes, the early birds get the fattest worms and I’ve got a lovely juicy offer for you if you buy before the end of this week. The content will be available from Monday 8th May but you’ll be able to mingle with virtual canapes and bubbly in the Facebook group right away.
Early Birds get Coaching Business School for just £150
or 3 monthly payments of £55
The Early Bird offer ends MIDNIGHT ON MONDAY 8TH MAY
So, it’s definitely worth being an Early Bird.
There’s a lovely Facebook group where you can chat, share ideas, ask for help and network with other awesome Coaching business owners, just like you (at all stages of business).
And for 3 months I’ll send you a weekly nudge by email to keep you on track and encourage you to visit the online Coaching Business Portal.
Here’s A Little About Me and Why I Can Help You (I started off with nothing – you’ll love my story!)
I’m Claire Mitchell and I run The Girls Mean Business. I’m also a mum to an 8 year old, Chloe, a wife to Mitch and tamer of our Jack Russell puppy Meg (that’s still a work in progress).
When I started out in 2012 I didn’t even have 2 pennies to rub together) and I made every mistake in the book.
Since 2012 I’ve built up a big, very profitable business (last year I made over £200k profit) working from home, around Chloe’s numerous school and social commitments (AKA mum’s taxi) and I’ve done it all teaching what I know and love – business and marketing – to women who are small business owners around the world.
It’s been an exciting journey!
I’m a marketing expert AND a business coach – the two things that you DEFINITELY need right now. I’ve got an MBA from the prestigious Durham University Business School and 15 years in corporate marketing working with some of the biggest companies in the UK (so I know my stuff).
More importantly, I’ve run my own business since 2005, coached hundreds of women across the world to turn their businesses around and helped thousands more women business owners through my Girls Mean Business Facebook page. (Over 89,000 of them so far!)
Ohhhh and did I mention the team at Facebook asked me to come to Ireland to give my feedback and I met their Chief Operating Officer (author, billionaire and totally awesome woman) Sheryl Sandberg?
She singled out The Girls Mean Business as one to watch, in front of the world’s press.
And I’ve spoken at Facebook’s UK events, sharing what I know and helping more small business owners. I love it!
I’ve taught social media for the British Florist Association and the Irish Kinesiology Association just in the last few months.
I’ve been featured in The Huffington Post, The Guardian, Die Welt, Marie Claire and Closer. I’ve also had my businesses featured on Radio One, BBC 1’s The Apprentice and BBC2.
I love working with women business owners, helping them fulfil their potential and build their business. Until now that was only possible if you bought one of my programmes or signed up an a VIP client, but I understand that’s not within everyone’s reach.
I’m a Maternity Reflexologist and Hypnobirthing Teacher. What I’ve learned most from Claire is about pricing my services.
I used to cut my prices frequently with a ‘scattergun’ approach, out of desperation. However, some of the clients I was attracting were just hopping from one cheap deal to another with different practitioners, and I couldn’t build up a solid client base.
The difference now is that I stick to my guns with what I charge – I actually charge more than my nearest competitors and the clients I attract now are not price-sensitive – they prefer to go for a quality service and are happy to pay my prices.Catherine Lee
I love the accessibility of the advice and the format that the advice is delivered in.
Things are broken down into bite size chunks that I can understand and implement easily and the flexibility of being able to access Claire’s videos whenever is suits ME has been invaluable. In the past Ive found staying motivated and engaged with the business side of things difficult but with Claire’s resources it’s so much easier.Lisa Venables Wells
I always struggled with marketing and thought it was such a minefield and never really knew where to start.
My marketing was predominantly reactive with what I thought I needed to do for the swim school. I have really changed focus since signing up to the awesome marketing planner package. Not only is my marketing on the up with a more planned strategy, Claire provides fantastic guidance and videos that make all aspects really straightforward (less scary!) and easy to understand.
Thank you so much, this has really helped my business.Amelia Hooley
I’ve found Claire’s teaching very inspiring when setting up my herbal medicine practice.
Claire is very knowledgeable and her friendly, chatty style has really helped me to learn about business basics. The additional community support makes running a healthcare practice no longer a lonely place but an uplifting one!Victoria Wright
With Claire’s help, I am learning about things like marketing that are never covered when you qualify in your chosen therapyAnn Cutcliffe
Claire’s programmes have taken away the loneliness. There’s always someone on board to help, suggest or point you in the right direction. We are one big happy family really and mamma Claire Mitchell keeps us focussed and on track xLynne Bartle
I sort of knew what I needed to do but never got round to doing it. Your programs helped me to get more structure and to plan things better.
I have learnt so much, and the groups are great for sounding ideas off, and finding others to help with stuff that you cannot or don’t want to do. Thank you xClaire Bareja
I run a children’s yoga business and Claire’s programme has helped me to expand into other areas by recruiting instructors – my business is expanding and getting bigger every month, I’m now looking for instructors outside of the North East regionSarah Walt
I wish I’d found Claire Mitchell earlier. Starting my Wellbeing Coaching & Training business was hard & lonely.
I wish I’d found Claire Mitchell earlier. Starting my Wellbeing Coaching & Training business was hard & lonely. I was out there in business world without a clear plan and support. As a result, I was a tad scattered & results were poor. With Claire’s input I’m now more focused & strategic in my approach.
The outcome being that I’ve started to earn more money (yay!), reach more people and actually have more ‘blue sky’ thinking for my business.Ursula Wood
Being part of your programmes has really turned my biz around.
I was struggling to focus my marketing and with just a few easy tweaks I learned from your classes has meant I can reach out to more people. I have taken more consultations this year than ever before. Good marketing strategies really do work thank you xNicky Long
I’ve found the courage to stop hiding my skills away, and thinking that people will just find me because they need me.
I’m working my way through the modules in the portal, regularly interacting in the facebook group and have found some awesome people locally, which I’m now networking with on a regular basis.
From these activities alone, I have increased my client base and things are set to get very exciting during 2017. I know my numbers on a monthly basis; I am developing my strategy for moving forward; and one of my REALLY scary things, was reviewing and then increasing my prices. My clients haven’t even noticed!
I would encourage you to take the leap – you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Claire Mitchell is awesome!Gill Grigg
